Chapter 8: Learning from the Truck Drivers

Bunya Vito, in his quest to further resist the surveillance state, decided to follow truck drivers across the eastern states of Australia to learn their ways of evading speed cameras. He observed them closely as they navigated through roadworks and varying speed limits, often exceeding the posted limits without fear of being caught.

Equipped with his walkie-talkie set to channel 40, Bunya Vito struck up conversations with seasoned truck drivers who knew every inch of the road and the locations of every speed camera. They shared valuable information about apps that could help locate cameras, but nothing was as reliable as real-time communication with these experienced drivers.

Bunya Vito learned about the different types of speed cameras used by the authorities, mounted on high poles and strategically placed to capture both front and rear number plates of passing vehicles. He researched the names and technologies behind these cameras, discovering how advancements in AI, like GPT-4, could potentially make them even more effective and invasive.

As Bunya Vito gathered information, he became increasingly aware of the closed system enforced by government organizations. He realized that questioning their authority or trying to protect one's rights was a difficult task, as they were often unresponsive to emails and maintained a rigid stance when dealing with citizens, as he had experienced firsthand with the South Australia police and his faulty odometer.

Fueled by this knowledge, Bunya Vito became even more determined to expose the authoritarian ways of these government agencies and protect the rights of citizens who were being exploited by a system that prioritized financial gain over justice and fairness.
